You must see Isla Mujeres at least once – restaurants tips

Isla Mujeres, Mexico is a tiny, amazing, peacefull little island located off the coast of Cancun. Its clear blue water, amazing coral reefs, white sand beaches, gently waving palm trees, migrating whale sharks, Mayan ruins, and giant iguanas that move over your view sometimes when you’re not looking make it one of the top travel locations in the Riviera Maya.

Playa Norte (North Beach) is by far the most popular and is often rated one of the best in the Caribbean. Playa Norte is just minutes from downtown, and the palm trees and luxurious white sand make Playa Norte muy hermosa. Playa Norte has almost no current, and kids and adults can wade pretty far out and the water will only reach their waist. Playa Posada, found along the west side isn’t as crowded, however the water isn’t as clear, and Playa Media Luna is a beautiful crescent shaped beach but the water can be rough.

This is the main beach on Isla Mujeres and has been named one of the best beaches in the Caribbean! The water here is calm, and shallow, making it a great spot for families or for just a chilled out day of floating around. Join a Yoga Class: The Treehouse overlooks Playa Norte and it is a paradise for yoga lovers. Take an early morning sunrise yoga class or an evening sunset class. If you’re looking to get some exercise, practicing yoga is one of the top things to do in Isla Mujeres. Prices start at $20 for 90 minutes and there are classes to suit all levels. Isla is more laid-back and tranquil than Cancun, but that doesn’t mean there isn’t plenty to do, it just means you can do nothing at all or fill your day with shopping, snorkeling, exploring, eating the freshest seafood in the Mexican Caribbean and drinking in that special magical atmosphere that is Isla Mujeres. Rent a golf cart or bicycle to explore the island and see the sites, take a yoga class and get a massage. Snorkel, scuba dive or go fishing and most importantly… relax and enjoy the warm turquoise water, white sand beaches and friendly charm of the people of Isla Mujeres. For the more adventurous, take a day trip to Isla Contoy, a natural wildlife reserve and bird sanctuary.
